About Us

UMDIS has conducted dozens of courses on growing and collecting mushrooms for commercial mushroom farms. We have been working since 2012 and during this time our students have been mushroom farms from all continents.

Who should attend?

Harvest Managers

Course provides crucial strategies for building and maintaining an efficient harvesting system. Equips with the tools needed to monitor team performance, collaborate with HR and coordinate closely with the Logistic, Sales, and Packing teams.

Harvesting Trainers

Course is essential for enhancing training programs and mastering effective harvesting techniques. The course offers insights into optimizing training schedules, refreshing skills, and ensuring new harvesters are well-prepared to meet quality standards.

Farm managers

The harvesting department is the largest department on the farm, and its efficient operation is crucial to the farm’s overall success.

Harvest supervisors

We will teach management all harvesting staff and ensuring quality production. The course provides strategies for overseeing daily operations, improving communication, and understanding picture on a bed.

Note: This course does not cover compost or mycelium production, and is not intended for hobbyists or small-scale home growers.

Lina Turovska – Creator of the Mushroom Harvesting Strategy

Lina Turovska brings global expertise in mushroom harvesting, gained from hands-on work with farms in Ireland, Canada, Poland, and Ukraine. She is the author of the proprietary method known as the “Mushroom Harvesting Strategy”, designed to optimize the harvesting process and increase farm efficiency.

With hundreds of training sessions conducted worldwide, Lina has helped many farms boost their yields by 4–6 kg of mushrooms per square meter of shelving—simply by improving their harvesting techniques.

Is the course suitable for beginners?

Yes, this course can benefit both newcomers and those with years of experience. However, please note that it covers only one aspect of farm operations—the mushroom harvesting process—although it is a crucial one.

What language will the course be conducted in?

The course will be conducted in English and Polish.

What mushrooms are covered?

Only white and brown button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus). This course is focused solely on button mushrooms. No other mushroom varieties will be discussed.

Will I receive any hands-on training during the course?

Yes, participants will have opportunities to observe and understand the operations in the harvesting department through real-life demonstrations on the farm.

Is compost and spawn production covered?

No, this course focuses exclusively on mushroom harvesting and the organization of the harvesting department.

How many participants are typically in each class?

The group size will be limited to a maximum of 15 participants.

Do I need to bring any materials or equipment to the course?

No, you do not need to bring anything. You will receive a packet of materials, a notebook and pen, a lab coat, and personal protective equipment.

How long does the course last, and what is the daily schedule?

The course lasts 3 days, with sessions lasting 7–8 hours per day, depending on the pace of the group.

Will economic aspects of mushroom farming be discussed?

No, this course focuses exclusively on mushroom harvesting and the organization of the harvesting department

Can I ask specific questions about my own farm or cultivation challenges?

Absolutely. We encourage you to ask questions relevant to your situation. We will do our best to provide answers that apply to your farm’s needs.

Will I receive a certificate upon completion?

Yes, you will receive a UMDIS certificate of completion. UMDIS is not an official educational institution, but our certificates are proudly displayed by many successful companies.

What if I need a visa?

After registration and payment, we’ll provide an invitation letter for visa application purposes. We do not offer additional assistance with visas.

Is accommodation included, or can you recommend nearby options?

Accommodation is not included in the course fee. We recommend Hotel Hetman in Sedlce for your stay.

Refund policy

Full refund if cancellation is made 2 weeks before the course.
If UMDIS cancels or reschedules the course, all participants will receive a full refund.
No guaranteed refund if cancellation is made less than 2 weeks prior.
