Golden spots on mushrooms – what to do?

Below we publish comment-advise of our consultant Iurie Boiciuc. I recently received lots of photos with golden spots on mushrooms – this is the bacterium pseudomonas gingeri. It usually appears at the beginning of the first flash, a few spots – and then the number increases. On the next flashes, spots are no longer there. Of course, this is a problem with the casing soil.

About in between flush mushrooms. Written during UMDIS picking courses by Tomasz Stanisławski

On the farm of Tomasz Stanisławski in Western Poland they do most of processes according to a good plan. Picking of the first flash in one room always ends on Thursday – and in the other always on Friday. We teach such regularity at the picking courses organized by UMDIS agency. The in between flush mushrooms are started to be picked on the 3rd or 4th day after the end of the picking of the first flash.

This week UMDIS Mushroom Information Agency held the first Polish Mushroom Picking School together with the trainer Tomasz Stanisławski. The venue is a mushroom farm near Wolsztyn, Poland. On February 27, 28 and March 1, participants from Eastern Europe and Central Asia have already learned the rules and organization of mushroom picking. Some mushroom farms` owners participated in the first courses even decided to send their supervisors to the next group.

As Agro-Projects`s machines have the names of ancient Greek and Roman gods and heroes – new machine got the name of Poseidon, in ancient Greek mythology, the supreme sea god.

Can you improve your yield ?

Harvesting mushrooms is unfortunately an underexposed part of our profession. The quality of mushrooms depends for more than 50% on the method and time of picking. By harvesting correctly and several times, you achieve a lot of extra production, and the picking costs will fall, due to a higher picking performance.
