Golden spots on mushrooms – what to do?

Below we publish comment-advise of our consultant Iurie Boiciuc.

I recently received lots of photos with golden spots on mushrooms – this is the bacterium pseudomonas gingeri. It usually appears at the beginning of the first flash, a few spots – and then the number increases. On the next flashes, spots are no longer there. Of course, this is a problem with the casing soil. But mushroom producers can take the following steps to reduce the number and distribution:

  1. Water with chlorinated water.
  2. Avoid watering over the mushrooms.
  3. It is nice to make good separation – so that air passes between mushrooms.
  4. Work at lower humidity.
  5. Monitor evaporation.
  6. Try not to lose compost activity during mushroom formation to preserve the delta.
  7. Use Armex.
