At the end of June, the Ven i Vino festival was once again held in the Spanish town of Villamalea. The event was connected with a concert that was taking place at that time. This is a kind of Spanish mini-festival or event for mushroom lovers. The event was organized by representatives of the largest Spanish mushroom cooperative Champinter and other mushroom farms. They donated mushrooms for the festival. Similar events have already taken place in this area, where the Champinter residence is located. In addition to gastronomic pleasure from various types of snacks with mushrooms, the event was charitable. Some money was sent to the association Asociación Сontra Сancer. The money gathered will be used to help people with cancer.

In the west of Poland, in Krzekotów, there is the Polish largest shiitake production. Weekly, 3.5-4 tons of this mushroom are produced here- Shiitake and Eryngii The company is called Exotic Mushroom Center, it is the European subsidiary of the Chinese largest shiitake producer – QiHe Biotechnology. In April 2023 UMDIS Mushroom Information Agency visited Spain to see farms and cooperatives. Soon we are going to publish videos from the farms – and now is short review. As Spanish mushroom producers, remembering the history told us – mushroom cultivation in Spain was starting in 1960-1980 years. Now Spain is the 3rd (or probably 4th) mushroom producer in Europe according to the volume of production.
