A large champignon farm will soon begin operating in Turkmenistan, which at the first stage will produce up to 540 tons of mushrooms per year, but the entrepreneurs plan to expand production to 2000 tons per year. The company reported this to the UMDIS Mushroom Agency.
The company is owned by local entrepreneur Babasadyk Churiev and will operate under the Tokaichi brand.
In the next 3 months, it is planned to put into operation 12 growing chambers, each with a capacity of 30 tons of compost for growing champignons. In the future, the entrepreneur expects to increase the number of growing rooms to 36.
To grow champignons, the company will produce its own compost, for which it purchased equipment in Turkey. Climate control will be carried out using Fancom controllers.
The company believes that there will be enough demand for fresh champignons in the country to sell its products. We are already being contacted with requests to purchase champignons, the company says.
According to UMDIS, today there are less than a dozen champignon production facilities in the country, but all are small and produce using primitive technologies.
Currently, the company’s technologists are undergoing training in UMDIS courses.
