UMDIS Mushroom Agency asked two people in Germany to send us the photos of mushroom prices in different supermarkets in end of May – June.
Germany is one of the largest consumers of mushrooms in EU. This country has number of domestic farms – as well they import mushrooms mostly from Poland. German mushroom producers take the advantage of promotion domestic products` consumption in Germany, doing lots of work to talk with German consumers.
In Germany there is the project going on – on the development of casing without peat. UMDIS Mushroom Agency wrote about it. As well mushroom producers can receive money from government for innovations – which are used for tilting shelves implementation for example.

So, as you see – the prices on mushrooms in different shops are similar. In some cases, are completely the same. The price for brown button mushroom is 8.7% higher than the price of white button mushroom. This time of year, we see promotions on mushrooms in different shops.
