Mushroom prices in 15 countries

UMDIS Mushroom Agency provided research on prices of mushrooms in the supermarkets in May – June in 15 countries. European as well as Aisian, American.

Below you can find the prices in EURO.

Here are some conclusions

1. Austrian white mushrooms (7.48 per kg) are about twice as expensive as imported white mushrooms (3.78 per kg).
2. Austrian organic brown mushrooms (13.45/kg) are 35% more expensive than non-organic Austrian brown mushrooms (9.96/kg).
3. In Romania, organic mushrooms are 173.3% more expensive than regular mushrooms.
4. A brown mushroom in Ireland can be the same price as a white one.
5. On domestic mushrooms in the United States we can see the note “product of USA”, “made in America” or “grown in New York”. As we know – the competition between American and all other mushroom suppliers is becoming stronger – American mushroom producers usually win.
6. Mushrooms in New York are much more expensive than in Colorado.
7. Mushrooms in Cambodia (22.34 Euro/kg) are 230% more expensive than in the USA, where they come from.
8. In Uzbekistan, the price of mushrooms on the market is almost 50% lower than in the supermarket.
9. In Moldova, the price of whole and sliced mushrooms is often the same.
