Not like before the war: in the seaside Odessa region the demand for mushrooms does not grow

Classically at this time – first part of June – mushroom prices in the Odessa region (close to the Black Sea), began to rise. This was due to increased demand, which was caused by the tourists coming. Restaurants and cafes ordered more mushrooms because the number of people in the region was increasing – they used to come on vacation. However, orders for mushrooms are not growing this year.

“Sales are very low, there are no tourists, restaurants are practically closed. 50% of the local population left region or country”, – says a mushroom grower from Odessa region.

Prices from the farm in Odessa are now 40-45 UAH per kilogram (1.3-1.46 Euro). On the market – 45-50 UAH (1.46-1.62 Euro).

Farm of this mushroom grower is now working – it has been closed for two months after the beginning of the war. “We load 50% because many customers are not working now”, – says the mushroom grower. According to our data, some other mushroom growers are not working at full capacity in Odesa region.
