Purpose

Flexity is a highly effective fungicide used to protect cultivated mushrooms from Dactylium disease (cobweb mold). It does not suppress mushroom growth and acts selectively against the pathogen.

Mode of Action

The active substance metrafenone belongs to the benzophenone class of fungicides.
It disrupts the growth and development of pathogens and prevents the spread of the disease.
The product remains effective even under difficult growing conditions, such as high humidity and elevated temperatures.

Disease Symptoms

• White cobweb-like spots appear on the casing soil.
• Rapid spread of mycelium across the mushroom bed surface.
• Infected mushrooms become discolored, covered with a white fluffy mold, and begin to rot.
• Severe infection can lead to complete crop loss.

Application Rates in Mushroom Cultivation

1–2 g/m² – treatment of infected areas or preventive application.

Recommendations for Use

• Apply the treatment at the first signs of infection.
• Cover infected areas with a paper towel before applying salt, alcohol, or fungicide to reduce spore spread.
• Conduct daily inspection of mushroom beds, especially under high humidity conditions.
• Prevent spores from spreading to tools, clothing, and growing room surfaces.

Other Crops

Flexity is also used in crop production (cereal crops) against:

• Powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis)
• Eyespot (Pseudocercosporella herpotrichoides)

Application stages: from tillering to the beginning of flowering (BBCH 25–61).

Prevention of Cobweb Mold

For preventive treatments the following fungicides are used:

• Shirlan – 0.3 g/m²
• Flexity – 2 g/m²
