Romania – the country with 10+ champignon mushroom farms for years was straggling without domestic compost. In Romania farms used to import compost from Hungary where large compost yards – Bio-Fungi, Korona and Boglar Champ are situated.
In Romania used to be a compost plant – but it was not functioning for years.
It was bought and renovated by purposefulness mushroom producer whose farm is situated near Bucharest – Puiu Ilisei.
Last week, in March 2024, first lot of compost was made on that compost yard. The amount of compost – 200 tones at once. The compost yard is producing compost Phase 3.

Puiu explains:
“In this video I talk about the beginning of producing compost, phase 1, wetting straw, mixing with chicken manure and introducing in bunker for aerobic fermentation, going to 80 Celsius degree for purity of raw material”.
