Course Curriculum

Day 1

Filling the Room & Watering

  • 9:00 — Meeting at the farm, opening, introduction, and program overview.
  • 9:30 — Initial farm walk to observe the current setup.
  • 10:15 — Classroom session: Filling the room properly. Compost characteristics, casing structure, proper casing application, actions after filling, calcium, and supplements.
  • 11:15 — Growing room session: Practical discussion of casing soil and compost.
  • 12:30 — Lunch break.
  • 13:00 — Classroom session: Watering and Case Run. Managing climate parameters during watering, preparing casing and compost to achieve high yields, and mycelium recovery (stop phase).
  • 14:30 — Growing room session: Practical case run phase observation.
  • 16:00 — Day summary and wrap-up.
Day 2

Cooldown & Pinheading Stage

  • 8:30 — Growing room session: Observation of casing soil structure, and how to create it.
  • 9:00 — Classroom session: Brief resume on filling.
  • 9:20 — Classroom session: Transition to cooldown and pinning phase. Managing climate parameters, pinning with CO₂, temperature, and humidity, and creating mushroom generations.
  • 10:20 — Growing room session: Practical cooldown pinning check. Identifying mycelium appearance, dew, and stimulation techniques.
  • 12:00 — Lunch break.
  • 12:30 — Classroom session: Pinheading stage. Climate parameters, compost behavior, preparing rooms for the first flush, watering before flush, and yield quality.
  • 13:30 — Growing room session: Direct inspection of pinheading stage.
  • 15:00 — Classroom session: Managing the first flush, climate parameters, yield quality, generations, and when watering over the first flush is safe.
  • 16:00 — Day summary.
Day 3

Second Flush & Harvesting

  • 8:30 — Classroom session: Action plan after the first flush. How to create a strong second flush by managing climate, watering, and compost behavior.
  • 10:00 — Growing room session: Transition from first to second flush. Identifying what the second flush should look like.
  • 11:00 — Classroom session: Managing the second flush and transitioning to the third flush.
  • 12:30 — Lunch break.
  • 13:30 — Hands-on session directly in the growing rooms.
  • 16:00 — Day recap.
Day 4

Harvesting, Hygiene & Course Wrap-up

  • 9:00 — Classroom session: The most important harvesting techniques. Managing separation and mastering graze picking.
  • 11:00 — Classroom session: Farm hygiene and disease prevention.
  • 12:00 — Classroom session: Final course summary, discussion, and open Q&A.
  • 13:00 — Diplomas and Certificate Ceremony, followed by lunch.
  • 13:30 — Final farm walk.
  • 15:00 — Course closing.
