This 3-day workshop will be conducted at a large mushroom farm in Poland in English and Polish. The program is specifically designed for commercial mushroom farm growers. During the course, participants will learn about the key elements of mushroom cultivation technology, enabling high yields with excellent product quality. The training is tailored for growers, farm managers, and harvesting managers of commercial mushroom farms.

Composting Facility Visit

Tuesday, 11th February

Introduction & Mycelium Run

8:30 – Visit to the compost yard: where it all starts. Introduction to the course, short farm walk. • Raw materials and mixing • Fermentation and pasteurization • Incubation, check inside the tunnel
10:00 – Meeting at the farm. First farm walk: • Touch and see, analyze • Rooms before airing – how and when to start • Pinning stage – how to manage next week’s first flush • Picking rooms • Computer settings

11:00 – Presentations, discussion, questions: “Mycelium run and watering schedules”

Airing & Flushes Management

8:30 – Meeting at the farm, start with the farm walk: • What has changed since yesterday • Checking the influence of changed setting points • Quality climate during picking • How to improve evaporation during picking

10:30 – Presentations: “Airing, getting a good first flush, and managing the next flushes”

With over two decades of experience in the mushroom cultivation industry, Wojtek has been involved in every aspect of mushroom farming. He has worked with two of the largest compost producers in Europe, guiding commercial farms through the complexities of mushroom production. Since 2020, Wojtek has been running his own consulting firm, helping farms optimize their operations and increase yields.
